Virtual consultations:
I am a Consultant Neurosurgeon with over 12 years of experience working at consultant level, specialising in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions affecting the brain, spine and nervous system. Alongside my clinical work, I serve as Clinical Director for the Neurosciences Care Group and act as a Medical Examiner for the Humber Health Partnership. I also lead the regional pituitary tumour service.
I have extensive experience in managing complex neurosurgical conditions, including brain tumours, pituitary tumours and disorders affecting the skull base (the area at the bottom of the skull where the brain meets the spine). My work involves both routine and highly specialised care, with a focus on achieving the best possible outcomes for each patient.
In my practice, I treat a wide range of spinal conditions. These include back pain, sciatica (pain that travels down the leg from the back), arm pain, slipped discs and lumbar canal stenosis, which is a narrowing of the spinal canal that can cause pain and mobility issues. I also manage age-related changes in the spine, often referred to as “wear and tear” or spondylosis.
In addition, I care for patients with broader neurosurgical conditions such as hydrocephalus (a build-up of fluid in the brain), head injuries and trauma-related disorders.
I understand that neurological conditions can feel complex and sometimes overwhelming. I aim to provide clear explanations and supportive, personalised care so you feel informed and confident about your treatment options. I take the time to understand your symptoms and concerns, and work with you to decide on the most appropriate treatment plan.
I accept private referrals for patients with brain tumours, pituitary tumours and complex skull base conditions, and I also provide an expert medicolegal service, including reports for personal injury and clinical negligence cases. Through my NHS work, I see patients with general neurosurgical and spinal conditions, helping to ensure access to specialist care across the region.
