I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Surgeon practising exclusively at Spire Cardiff Hospital. With over 20 years' experience in foot and ankle surgery and more than 5,000 procedures performed, I am one of the most experienced foot and ankle surgeons in the United Kingdom. After more than 25 years of NHS service, I became the first orthopaedic surgeon in Wales to transition to full-time private practice, a deliberate decision to dedicate myself entirely to my subspecialist interests in elite sports surgery and minimally invasive bunion and toe surgery. My private patients receive my complete and undivided clinical focus.

I am an international leader in minimally invasive bunion surgery and one of the longest-established practitioners of this technique in the world. Using keyhole approaches, I correct bunions and complex forefoot deformities including hallux rigidus, hammertoes, claw toes, and lesser toe deformities with less pain, faster recovery, and superior results compared to traditional open surgery. I hold patents in surgical technique, have developed original procedures published in the international medical literature, and teach this technique to surgeons across the UK and USA. I formerly on the board of the international minimally invasive foot and ankle surgery society, now known as MIFAS, and I am the only UK foot and ankle surgeon invited to join the Foot and Ankle Forum.

I am vastly experienced in complex foot and ankle surgery and am frequently sought out by patients who have not achieved the outcome they hoped for elsewhere. I offer a specialist second opinion service covering assessment and revision of trauma surgery, failed previous procedures, and complex reconstruction. I regularly see patients referred from other surgical teams across the UK and internationally. I have published extensively throughout my career, contributing original work to the international medical literature including surgical techniques I have personally developed. I have won multiple national research awards and am regularly invited to lecture worldwide, from the USA to China and across Europe.

My sports surgery practice spans the highest levels of professional sport. I have worked with Premiership and Championship rugby and football clubs, the Welsh Rugby Union, the Rugby Football Union, and international teams in cricket, hockey, and gymnastics. I regularly treat professional athletes who travel from abroad specifically to access my expertise. This breadth of experience across multiple sports and competition levels means I bring a detailed understanding of the demands of elite sport to every athlete I treat.
