My major subspecialist interest is in the management of upper gastrointestinal diseases particularly oesophago-gastric cancer. I also have a major interest in the management of gallstone disease and practice therapeutic biliary endoscopy (ERCP). My other major clinical interest is hernia surgery.

I trained in Sheffield and qualified in 1982. I undertook surgical training in Leicester and Sheffield. Further specialist training was undertaken in Japan and Hong Kong. I was appointed as Consultant Surgeon in 1996.
