I am a Consultant Upper Gastrointestinal and General Surgeon based in Cambridge, practising at Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital. I have extensive experience specialising in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care using minimally invasive techniques wherever possible.
My practice focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of conditions affecting the upper digestive system, including the oesophagus, stomach and gallbladder. I am committed to providing clear, personalised advice and creating tailored treatment plans to help patients achieve the best possible outcomes.
I specialise in upper gastrointestinal surgery, with a particular focus on benign conditions such as acid reflux and swallowing disorders. My work includes anti-reflux surgery and treatment for achalasia.
I have extensive experience in gallbladder surgery and the management of gallstone disease, performing a high volume of gallbladder removals using keyhole (laparoscopic) techniques to support faster recovery and reduced post-operative discomfort. In addition, I provide surgical treatment for hernias, including laparoscopic groin hernia repair, as well as diagnostic upper GI endoscopy.
My expertise also includes laparoscopic investigation and treatment of a range of gastrointestinal conditions, as well as splenectomy when clinically appropriate, ensuring patients benefit from modern, minimally invasive approaches wherever appropriate.
Throughout my career, I have developed significant experience in high-volume, complex procedures. I have performed over 2,000 gallbladder removals, more than 2,000 laparoscopic hernia repairs and over 1,500 gastroscopies across both NHS and private practice.
I previously held the role of Lead Upper GI Surgeon at North West Anglia NHS Trust, where I was responsible for delivering specialist care and supporting service development in upper gastrointestinal surgery.
I graduated from University College London and completed my higher surgical training in East Anglia, developing specialist expertise in laparoscopic and upper gastrointestinal surgery. I am a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and continue to stay at the forefront of surgical practice through ongoing professional development.
