As a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Spire Washington Hospital, I specialise in the diagnosis and treatment of complex hip and knee conditions for patients across Sunderland, Washington, Durham and surrounding areas.
I completed my orthopaedic training in the Northeast of England and Liverpool, where I was awarded a Master’s degree in Orthopaedic Surgery. I currently lead the pelvic and acetabular reconstruction service in Sunderland, delivering specialist surgical care for patients with complex traumatic hip injuries. I have broad experience treating a wide range of patients, having successfully performed hip replacement surgery on individuals from as young as 11 through to 99 years old.
In my practice, I regularly manage complex and failed hip replacements, including revision surgery, removal and reconstruction procedures. I also offer knee surgery, including knee replacement and knee arthroscopy (keyhole surgery), providing comprehensive care for patients with joint pain and mobility issues.
Alongside my clinical work, I have contributed to several publications and am a chapter author of the Oxford Textbook of Orthopaedics. I run my private practice from Spire Washington Hospital, where I see patients for consultations and treatment, with outpatient clinics held on Friday afternoons.
