I have been practising in neurosurgery for 13 years and have worked as a consultant neurosurgeon for the past five years. I specialise in complex spinal surgery, with a particular focus on minimally invasive techniques, and manage a broad range of spinal conditions requiring both routine and highly specialised surgical care.

I specialise in complex spinal surgery, with a particular interest in minimally invasive techniques for the treatment of degenerative spinal conditions. I manage a broad range of cervical, thoracic and lumbar spinal disorders, including disc prolapse, spinal stenosis, cervical myelopathy, nerve root compression, spondylolisthesis, spinal instability and selected spinal deformity. I also treat more complex spinal pathology, including spinal tumours, trauma and other conditions requiring advanced reconstructive or decompressive surgery.

I routinely perform well over 300 spinal procedures each year, covering the full length of the spine and ranging from common degenerative conditions to highly complex spinal pathology. My operative practice includes procedures such as lumbar discectomy and decompression, cervical and lumbar fusion, complex spinal reconstruction, intradural tumour surgery and selected spinal vascular conditions.A significant part of my specialist work involves technically demanding intradural and microsurgical procedures, which require meticulous tissue handling and a detailed understanding of spinal anatomy. I believe this experience also brings a high level of precision to more routine spinal procedures.

I am an active member of the wider neurosurgical and spinal surgery community. I serve as Neurosurgery Officer for AO Spine UK & Ireland, contributing to the education and development of the next generation of spinal surgeons. I am also a member of the FRCS Neurosurgery examination question-writing team and act as Research and Audit Lead for Neurosurgery at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, where I support clinical research, audit and service improvement.
