I am a Consultant Laparoscopic Colorectal and General Surgeon at The Dudley Group Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (Russell Hall Hospital West Midlands, England). I am an academic surgeon and currently the clinical governance and surgical lead for inflammatory bowel disease.

I specialise in laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery for colorectal cancer and other diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. I manage hereditary cancer syndromes and I offer colonoscopy screening for bowel cancer (JAG Accredited Endoscopist), endoscopic and minimally invasive management of colonic polyps, surgery for Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis and functional bowel disorder.

I offer treatment of haemorrhoids, rectal bleeding and other benign anal conditions, laparoscopic cholecystectomy for gallstone disease and laparoscopic and open repair of abdominal wall hernias.

I completed the prestigious higher surgical training in General and Colorectal Surgery from Cambridge Deanery, UK and undertook a subspecialist colorectal fellowship at St Mark’s Hospital, London, UK in advanced coloproctology prior to taking up a consultant post. I was the recipient of the Braun Aesculap Travelling Scholarship awarded from the Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons Great Britain & Ireland which afforded me the privilege of a travel fellowship at the Mayo clinic, Rochester, Minnesota USA (2016).

I completed my academic research programme at the Barts and the London Hospital, which led to the award of a Doctorate of Medicine degree by the Queen Mary University of London, UK (2012). I am a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, England and an associate fellow of the Higher Education Academy of England.

I have also published in several scientific journals and functioned in the capacity of editorial board of scientific journals at various times during my career.
