I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Knee Surgeon who specialises in Robotically Assisted Knee Replacement Surgery. I qualified with a Distinction in Clinical Practice from St George's Hospital Medical School, London in 2007 and undertook my Basic Surgical Training in London and Oxford. I went on to complete my higher surgical training in the West Midlands on the Birmingham Rotation and obtained my FRCS (Trauma and Orthopaedics) in 2016. I completed my advanced knee fellowships at both the highly competitive internationally recognised Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford and Nottingham University Hospitals.

I have a professional interest in all aspects of knee conditions and my specialist surgical interests and expertise include keyhole surgery, minimally invasive partial knee replacements, total knee replacements and failed knee replacements (which often require complex reconstructions). I am happy to provide second opinions for those with complex knee conditions.

I strive to use the latest technologies and advancements in orthopaedics to deliver the best surgical outcome for my patients. I am also currently contributing to the largest ongoing trial on robotic technology in total knee replacements using the MAKO robotics system (funded by the National Institute of Health Research).

I have delivered lectures at the British Orthopaedic Association, Computer Aided Orthopaedic Society and British Association for Surgery of the Knee for the use of robotic technology in my practice. I use my expertise to regularly train other consultants nationally and internationally wanting to learn how to perform robotically assisted knee replacements in their practice.

I currently work as a Consultant Orthopaedic Knee Surgeon at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham which is recognised as a leading and internationally renowned specialist orthopaedic centre.

I am the chair of the Modern Interventions Group as well as the Surgical Lead for same day discharge following knee replacement surgery at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital. I am currently part of a select working group of knee surgeons formulating national guidelines for the British Association for Surgery of the Knee for primary total knee arthroplasty.

I enjoy spending my spare time with my wife and two very young daughters. Outside of responsibilities for being a father and husband, I still enjoy playing cricket and tennis. I, like most others post pandemic, have found a love for cycling and running.
