Virtual consultations:
I have a special interest in both knee surgery and hip surgery.
I have specialised in all aspects of knee surgery including sports injuries. My particular clinical and research interests include arthroscopic surgery, anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, multiple knee ligament injuries, osteotomies, unicompartmental knee replacements, complex knee replacements (including correction of severe deformities) and revision knee replacement.
I am also experienced in hip surgery consisting of primary and revision hip replacements and hip arthroscopic surgery. I am presently involved in promoting short-stay hip and knee replacements by minimally-invasive surgery and new techniques of pain control and rehabilitation.
I joined Trafford General Hospital as a consultant in 1999 after completing my specialist training in Orthopaedics and Trauma in the Edinburgh Orthopaedic Training Programme. I have also visited centres of excellence in orthopaedic surgery in the US and Europe to learn new techniques.
I practice at Spire Manchester Hospital as well as their clinic in Hale, Cheshire.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Ahmad Mobeen Ismail at Spire include:
