I am an experienced Consultant Eye Surgeon at Hull University Teaching Hospitals, specialising in cataract and retinal surgery. My surgical expertise covers both simple and complex procedures, and I have performed more than 10,000 cataract removal surgeries, including advanced techniques using premium lens technology. I am committed to delivering the highest standard of care and achieving the best possible outcomes for my patients.

I have extensive experience in retinal surgery, offering state-of-the-art suture-less procedures for a range of conditions, including macular hole surgery, epiretinal membrane, vitreomacular traction, floaters, vitreous haemorrhage and retinal detachment surgery. I also provide intravitreal injections for retinal diseases such as age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and retinal vein occlusion, alongside targeted laser eye treatments, including YAG laser capsulotomy, YAG iridotomy and retinal laser procedures.

In addition to specialist care, I treat a variety of general eye conditions such as glaucoma, dry eyes, blepharitis and choroidal naevus, ensuring a comprehensive approach to eye health.

My training spans the UK, Japan and Egypt, and I completed a PhD at the renowned Kyoto University, focusing on retinal diseases. I have a strong interest in innovation, research and education, with over 40 peer-reviewed publications and involvement in more than 15 international clinical trials exploring new treatments for retinal conditions.

I am also a Senior Lecturer at Hull York Medical School, where I contribute to teaching and training the next generation of ophthalmologists, while continuing to provide expert, patient-focused eye care.
