MB BCh, FRCS (Tr & Orth)
I have worked as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge since 2023. My specialty is orthopaedic hand and wrist surgery, with expertise in both trauma cases and elective surgery.
I specialise in orthopaedic hand and wrist cases, with interests including hand and wrist pain and arthritis, Dupuytren's disease, and nerve compression syndromes, such as carpal tunnel syndrome and cubital tunnel syndrome. I have developed a special interest in base of thumb arthritis surgery, including joint replacements and hand and wrist trauma.
Following registrar training, I undertook the prestigious Training Interface Group fellowship in Hand Surgery, culminating in achieving both the UK and European Hand Diplomas. Since the time of my fellowship I have performed over 1,000 operations, with around 75% of these on the hand and wrist.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Aaron Rooney at Spire include:
