I am a dedicated and highly skilled Ophthalmic Surgeon with a substantive consultant post at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust and an honorary consultant research post at Cambridge University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. My expertise ranges across two sub-specialties in Ophthalmology - medical and surgical glaucoma with a complimentary sub-specialty skills in neuro-ophthalmology. I have extensive clinical and surgical experience working in ophthalmology at a senior clinical level roles across 6 acute NHS trusts for the past 12 years. Prior to that, I have overseas experience at a consultant ophthalmology level working in Bulgaria for 5 years. Over the past 6 years I have proven track record of working in glaucoma and neuro-ophthalmology field with world-leading consultants in a high -pressure clinical environment.
I specialise in the medical and surgical management of glaucoma and ocular hypertension. The medical management includes local agents as eye drops, while the surgical management includes variation of laser procedures, different glaucoma surgeries, known as trabeculectomy, drainage devices procedures, including contemporary methods of treatment such as microinvasive glaucoma surgeries.
To date related to glaucoma I have performed over 50 trabeculectomies, 15 micro-shunt procedures with Preserflo. Implanting tube drainage devices – 10 procedures performed. Cataract surgery with various level of complexity – 650 cases. Canal-based glaucoma procedures 50 cases, including with iStent, OMNI Surgical Sytems and iTrack advance. Selective laser trabeculoplasty- performed – 200 cases, YAG-laser peripheral iridotomy – 200 cases, argon laser suture lysis –15 and YAG- laser capsulotomy – 200 cases.
