Miss Tina Kipioti

Consultant Ophthalmologist

MD, FRCSEd

Specialises in

I am a Consultant in Ophthalmology at Heartlands and Solihull hospitals. As well as practicing General Ophthalmology, dealing with common eye problems and cataract surgery, I am a special interest in Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus.

I have a weekly eye clinic for children and I am happy to deal with any of the eye problems that affect children or concerns of their parents. My aim is to establish a good relationship with both the children and the parents so that they all understand what the problem is and work together. I make a point of writing all that we have discussed in clinic into a letter so that parents have the chance to have answers in writing and communicate them to school or other carers or family as needed.

I have had extensive training and a wealth of experience with squint management, both surgical and conservative and carry out hundreds of squint operations annually both on children and adults, including complex ones.

I seem to work quite a lot but when I am not dealing with eyes, I like to read, play tennis very badly and decorate my period house, which is why I am often covered in paint! I travel a lot to visit my family in Greece and try to hide the fact that I am probably the only Greek girl who cannot cook. I enjoy dining out and when I am at home, music is always around me, either from a very small iPod or my very large piano.
