I have been a Consultant Gynaecologist since 2004 with an NHS contract at Medway foundation trust since 2004.
I am a Menopause Specialist (accredited with the British Menopause Society). The management of women in perimenopause and menopause, especially those in the younger age group is my area of greatest interest. I do also practice general gynaecology with interests in Colposcopy (accredited Colposcopist) and heavy/disturbed menstrual bleeding in all age groups. As well as cervical disease I also have an interest in women suffering with vulval disease.
My clinical interests include: Cervical smears; heavy menstrual bleeding; bleeding dysfunction; PCOS; and vulval disorders.
My other treatments include: Colposcopy +/- LLETZ; hormone profiles; resection of polyps/fibroids.
I believe in the concept of ambulatory care and as such focus on hysteroscopic surgical and minimal access techniques for management of heavy menstrual bleeding without resorting to hysterectomy - many procedures being delivered in a walk-in, walk-out setting.
I am the Clinical Lead and GIRFT (Get It Right First Time) Lead for Gynaecology services at Medway Foundation Trust and mirror the service changes/developments in line with the national agenda and Women's Health Strategy.
