I am a Consultant Colorectal and General Surgeon specialising in minimally invasive (keyhole and robotic) surgery for a wide range of bowel and abdominal conditions.
I treat patients with concerns such as bowel disorders, hernias, gallstones, inflammatory bowel disease and colorectal cancer, as well as proctology conditions including haemorrhoids, fissures and fistulas. I offer both non-surgical treatments and advanced surgical options where needed, including procedures such as laparoscopic and robotic colorectal surgery, hernia repair and minimally invasive treatments for pilonidal disease and anal conditions.
I offer a number of advanced minimally invasive procedures, including laparoscopic TEP (Totally Extraperitoneal) inguinal hernia repair, a keyhole technique that allows me to repair groin hernias without entering the abdominal cavity. I also specialise in EPSiT (Endoscopic Pilonidal Sinus Treatment) and VAAFT (Video-Assisted Anal Fistula Treatment), innovative endoscopic procedures used to treat pilonidal sinus disease and anal fistulas. These techniques are designed to minimise discomfort, reduce scarring and support a quicker recovery compared with traditional surgical approaches.
My work also includes diagnostic procedures such as endoscopy, helping to investigate symptoms and guide the best course of treatment. I have a particular interest in abdominal wall reconstruction and managing complex colorectal conditions.
I trained at leading centres in Liverpool and Manchester and further developed my expertise through specialist fellowship training, including international experience in the USA.
Alongside my clinical work, I hold a number of leadership roles within colorectal services and the wider surgical community, helping to maintain high standards of care and improve patient outcomes across the region.
I understand that bowel-related conditions can be sensitive and sometimes difficult to talk about, so I aim to create a supportive environment where patients feel comfortable discussing their symptoms and treatment options.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and maintaining an active lifestyle.
