I, Miss Pampa Sarkar, MD (London), FRCOG am a Consultant Gynaecologist. My special interests are in the management of menstrual disorders and pelvic pain, laparoscopic treatment of ovarian cysts and endometriosis, hysteroscopy and treatment of endometrial polyps and fibroids, work up for prolapse and for infertility, and management of symptoms and irregular bleeding in menopause. I offer major surgery for large fibroids and hysterectomy.
I have always had a keen interest in teaching and training and am an examiner for Part 3 MRCOG examinations. I have been a member of the Green Top Guidelines Committee of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists which is responsible for national guidelines in obstetrics and gynaecology. I am an accredited member and trainer with the British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (BSCCP) and a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRCOG).
I have expertise in the following areas: Menstrual disorders- heavy and painful periods, irregular periods, pelvic pain, menopause- symptoms and irregular bleeding, well Woman checks, workup for prolapse surgery, workup for fertility, laparoscopic surgery for ovarian cysts, endometriosis and pain, hysteroscopic surgery for endometrial polyps and fibroids, colposcopy for abnormal smears, surgery for large fibroids and hysterectomy.
