Miss Nadia Rahman
"The opportunity to operate at Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital as a NHS surgeon, allowed me to gain insight on the high level of professionalism within Spire while maintaining excellent standards of care"
After completing Advanced Training in Urogynaecology in Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge (2017), I have been working as a full-time Consultant Urogynaecologist.
I am committed to providing holistic care to patients with vaginal prolapse, female urinary incontinence and recurrent urinary tract infections, while fully acknowledging that these issues are often strongly associated with anxiety and embarrassment. My aim has always been to improve the quality of life of patients by applying sound clinical skills with positive demeanour and to manage my patients' physical symptoms and expectations through educating, counselling, conservative measures and where appropriate discussing the relevance of surgery with them.
My areas of expertise includes the management of female pelvic floor dysfunction manifesting as Vaginal prolapse, Genuine Stress incontinence, Mixed urinary incontinence, Recurrent urinary tract infections and Painful Bladder Syndrome.
My surgical expertise includes non-mesh procedures only: Anterior Vaginal Wall Repair, Posterior Vaginal wall Repair, Perineorrhaphy, Vaginal Hysterectomy, Sacrospinous Hysteropexy and Sacrospinous Fixation of the Vault in women post-hysterectomy. I also specialise in bladder investigations such as Urodynamics test, Cystoscopy and procedures such as Intra-vesical Botox injections and Urethral Bulkamid injections.
In my 12 years service in the NHS, I have performed over 180 pelvic floor repairs (anterior +/- posterior colporrhaphy), 70 intravesical Botox/ uretheral bulkamid procedures, over 80 vaginal hysterectomies / sacrospinous hysteropexy / sacrospinous fixation and over 100 diagnostic cystoscopy procedures.
