I am a full-time Consultant Ophthalmologist and Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, also known as an Oculoplastic Surgeon, at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals. I was a consultant at Aintree University Hospital in Liverpool before I joined the NNUH in April 2016. I run a very busy NHS service and provide routine and complex oculoplastic care to the large population of Norfolk and North Suffolk as well as tertiary referrals from further afield.
I focus on the eyelids, performing more than 400 procedures annually. My background and expertise set me apart from general plastic/cosmetic surgeons. Eyes are the most important part of our face, providing us with our vision, and therefore only an oculoplastic surgeon should perform surgery in this area. I will provide you with an honest and valued opinion.
I treat the entire spectrum of oculoplastic disorders. This includes eyelid problems such as cancers, malpositions (turning in or turning out), ptosis (drooping eyelids) or problems after facial paralysis. I also specialise in scarless endoscopic watery eye surgery. I have particular interest in orbital and complex skull base disease, such as thyroid orbitopathy, orbital vascular malformations and orbital fractures. I am also highly skilled in performing surgery for aesthetic enhancement.
I work closely with the University of East Anglia Medical School and East of England School of Ophthalmology to train the next generation of ophthalmologists. I have a great interest in research and have authored over 25 peer-reviewed publications. I have been invited to speak in a number of national and international conferences and training courses.
