I am a full-time Consultant Ophthalmologist and Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, also known as an Oculoplastic Surgeon, with a private practice at Spire Norwich Hospital and Spire Ella May Barnes Clinic in Norwich, Norfolk.  My NHS practice is at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals.

I treat the entire spectrum of oculoplastic disorders. This includes eyelid problems such as cancers (skin cancer), malpositions (turning in or turning out), ptosis (drooping eyelids) or problems after facial paralysis (facial palsy). I also specialise in scarless endoscopic watery eye surgery for blocked tear duct. I have particular interest in orbital and complex skull base disease, such as thyroid orbitopathy (thyroid eye disease), orbital vascular malformations and orbital fractures. Other conditions I treat include cornea disease, external eye disease and lacrimal disorders.  In addition, I also undertake corrective surgeries for eyelids that are positioned abnormally, eyelid reconstruction, eye removal, squint surgery and treatment for glaucoma.

As well as ophthalmology/oculoplastic surgery I am also highly skilled in performing surgery for aesthetic enhancement (cosmetic surgery).

I focus on the eyelids, performing more than 400 procedures annually. My background and expertise set me apart from general plastic/cosmetic surgeons. Eyes are the most important part of our face, providing us with our vision, and therefore only an oculoplastic surgeon should perform surgery in this area. I will provide you with an honest and valued opinion.

I work closely with the University of East Anglia Medical School and East of England School of Ophthalmology to train the next generation of ophthalmologists.

I have a great interest in research and have authored over 25 peer-reviewed publications. I have been invited to speak in a number of national and international conferences and training courses.

I was a consultant at Aintree University Hospital in Liverpool before I joined the NNUH in April 2016. I run a very busy NHS service and provide routine and complex oculoplastic care to the large population of Norfolk and North Suffolk as well as tertiary referrals from further afield.
