MB ChB MRCOG MD
I have been a Consultant Gynaecologist, Oncologist and Surgeon for 14 years. I am an expert in colposcopy, pre-cancerous conditions, and the diagnosis and treatment of gynaecological cancers, as well as providing general women's healthcare. I am an expert in both open and robotic surgery for benign conditions such as fibroids, adenomyosis and endometriosis, and I am also experienced in complex surgery for early and advanced gynaecological cancers.
I perform diagnostic procedures in both outpatient and inpatient settings, such as colposcopy, loop excision of the cervix, cervical cautery, outpatient hysteroscopy and endometrial sampling, and Mirena coil insertions and removals. I expertly perform diagnostic and therapeutic laparoscopic surgery, and I carry out robotic surgery for a range of benign gynaecological conditions requiring hysterectomy.
I specialise in open and robotic surgery for early and advanced gynaecological cancers, as well as vulval surgery for pre-cancerous conditions and cancer.
I am proficient in all diagnostic procedures, including hysteroscopy and laparoscopy. I manage patients with vaginal discharge, pelvic pain, heavy and painful periods, irregular bleeding, including bleeding after sex, as well as perimenopausal and menopausal problems.
I am an expert colposcopist with 20 years' experience in the NHS and have performed at least 300 loop excisions of the cervix.
I have performed 150 robotic hysterectomies, including procedures for overweight and obese patients. I am also an expert in open surgery and can perform abdominal hysterectomy with or without the removal of the fallopian tubes and ovaries for ovarian cysts, ovarian masses or large fibroids that cannot be treated robotically. As a Gynaecological Oncology Surgeon, I have performed 60 radical hysterectomies for cervical cancer, as well as surgical excisions for vulval cancer throughout my career. For patients with advanced ovarian cancer, I now perform cytoreductive surgery and HIPEC (heated intraperitoneal chemotherapy) to help improve patient survival.
