I am a Consultant Gynaecologist, Robotic and Laparoscopic Surgeon providing advanced private care for patients across Cambridge and the East of England. I specialise in minimally invasive surgery as well as open surgery in my private practice at Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital.

My special interest is in robotic-assisted surgery. I have performed more than 400 robotic-assisted gynaecological procedures including hysterectomy, removal of ovaries, ovarian cystectomy and treatment of minor endometriosis.

I also regularly perform laparoscopic surgery. I perform prophylactic or risk reducing surgery to remove fallopian tubes and ovaries for women with genetic conditions like BRCA carrier state which predisposes them to high risk of ovarian cancer. As a part of cancer lead role, I regularly perform complex open surgery for hysterectomies, removal of ovarian masses, fibroid uterus.

I regularly perform diagnostic procedures including hysteroscopy, endometrial biopsies, endometrial polyp removals, mirena coil insertions.

I am a trained and accredited colposcopist. I perform colposcopy, cervical screening, cervical biopies and LLETZ (Large Loop Excision of Transformation Zone) as treatment for pre-cancer cells and early cancer of cervix. I also provide vulval surgeries with vulvoscopy, vulva biopsies, wide local excision of pre-cancer cells of vulva.

I started in my role as Consultant Gynaecologist and Obstetrician at Colchester Hospital in April 2019. I am also Gynaecology Oncology Lead.

I have been working in gynaecological cancer for over 20 years.

I completed my basic medical training in India, with post-graduate degree in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. I completed further Obstetrics and Gynaecology speciality training in the East of England. I completed clinical fellowship in gynaecology oncology at the Christie Hospital in Manchester. I have a Bachelor of medicine / Bachelor of surgery (MBBS) degree, Master of Surgery (MS) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. I am a Member of Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG).

I look after women with confirmed and suspected gynaecological cancer.

I have been a robotic-assisted surgeon for over 5 years and have performed more than 400 robotic-assisted gynaecolgical surgeries during that time for both my NHS and private patients.

I am a proctor (mentor) for Intuitive. I help train established surgeons to perform robotic-assisted surgery.

I regularly host external surgeons in my NHS operating theatres for case observations to learn robotic-assisted surgery.

I have been faculty at Train the Trainer course for robotic surgery being jointly organised by LapCO and BIARGS at ESNEFT.
