Professional profile

Dr Zia Zuberi is a consultant cardiologist and electrophysiologist practising at Spire St Anthony’s Hospital and St George’s Hospital in London. He has extensive expertise in general adult cardiology and in addition has a particular interest in the management of heart rhythm disorders (electrophysiology) such as ablation, atrial fibrillation and complex pacing (CRT/ICD) for heart failure.

Zia graduated Proxime Accessite to the University of London Gold medal for Medicine from University College London (UCL). He was awarded 1st class honours for his intercalated BSc. His research in cardiac electrophysiology was supported by a prestigious MRC clinical training fellowship and led to the award of a PhD. Additionally he holds several academic prizes including the John Murray Prize in medicine and was runner up for the president’s medal awarded by the Royal Society of Medicine for cardiology. He has several publications and is actively involved in cardiology research. He is also a lecturer at St George’s Hospital.
