I am a UK-trained Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist with almost 20 years of medical experience. I specialise in diagnosing and treating a wide range of digestive and liver conditions, helping patients find clear answers to symptoms such as abdominal pain, bloating, reflux, swallowing difficulties, diarrhoea, constipation, rectal bleeding and abnormal blood tests.I am known for providing thorough assessments, clear explanations and personalised treatment plans tailored to each patient’s individual needs.

I have particular expertise in irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), acid reflux and heartburn, inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis), iron deficiency anaemia, coeliac disease, fatty liver disease, abnormal liver function tests, cirrhosis and viral hepatitis.I also regularly assess patients with unexplained weight loss, changes in bowel habit, abdominal pain, bloating and digestive symptoms where previous investigations have not provided a clear diagnosis.

Throughout my career, I have been involved in thousands of endoscopic procedures, including gastroscopy, colonoscopy and flexible sigmoidoscopy. I perform regular diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy and work closely with radiologists, surgeons, pathologists and specialist multidisciplinary teams to ensure patients receive comprehensive, evidence-based care.My approach focuses on achieving an accurate diagnosis efficiently and helping patients move quickly towards effective treatment and reassurance.

Alongside my clinical practice, I am actively involved in medical education, research, innovation and healthcare leadership. I am the founder of GENIUS (Gastroenterology Network for Innovation, Understanding & Science) and Gastro360°, initiatives designed to improve patient care, education and service quality.As a Consultant Gastroenterologist at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust, I remain committed to delivering consultant-led care of the highest standard.
