I graduated from the University of Leicester and undertook my postgraduate training at Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham. I then specialised in dermatology in Manchester where I developed my interest in skin cancer and dermatological surgery. I am the only dermatological surgeon in the Yorkshire region to be accredited by the prestigious American College of Mohs Surgery, having undertaken a two-year fellowship at the Skin Cancer Institute, New Zealand.
My main interests are in the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer. I specialise in Mohs surgery - a specialised technique using a microscope at the time of surgery to ensure all the roots of a skin cancer are removed. Mohs surgery offers the highest cure rate following facial skin cancer removal and subsequently allows a cosmetically pleasing repair to be performed (as the hole to remove the cancer is kept as small as possible). My main research interests are in highlighting surgical techniques that provide patients with the best results. I am one of the most widely published dermatological surgeons in the UK.
