I am an experienced Consultant Cardiologist and Interventional Cardiologist, working at Arrowe Park Hospital, Liverpool Heart & Chest Hospital and Spire Murrayfield Hospital Wirral. I manage all aspects of general cardiology, including chest pain, angina, shortness of breath, palpitations, dizziness and blackouts.
My clinical interests include coronary artery disease, atrial fibrillation and other heart rhythm disorders, hypertension, and detailed cardiac imaging such as echocardiography. I have particular expertise in arrhythmia management and electrophysiology, helping patients with rhythm disturbances receive accurate diagnosis, monitoring and treatment.
I care for patients with heart failure and cardiomyopathy, heart valve disease, athlete’s heart, and those requiring anticoagulation. I also take a strong interest in primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease, supporting patients to reduce their risk of heart attack and stroke. In addition, I provide specialist cardiac assessments for non‑cardiac surgery, alongside advice on fitness to drive (DVLA), travel, flying and exercise.
At Spire, I offer a comprehensive range of investigations including ECGs, Holter monitoring, echocardiography, exercise and dobutamine stress echocardiograms, tilt table testing and cardio‑pulmonary exercise testing, as well as interpretation of cardiac CT and MRI scans.
My sub‑specialty is interventional cardiology. I am highly experienced in coronary angiography, pressure wire assessment, intra‑coronary imaging (IVUS and OCT), and simple to complex balloon angioplasty and stenting. I have performed over 10,000 cardiac procedures and make timely referrals for bypass surgery when appropriate.
I am also the Primary PCI and MINAP Lead at Wirral University Teaching Hospital and provide expert medico‑legal reporting.
