Professional profile
I undertake general dermatology clinics, treating acne, inflammatory skin conditions (such as eczema, psoriasis and all types of “rashes”), allergies and all types of skin cancers. I operate on skin cancers, moles, skin tags, cysts and warts. I have a special interest in diagnosing and managing sun induced conditions (photodermatoses) and I spent time in renowned photodermatology centres across the UK (London, Manchester, Cardiff, Dundee), as well as in France, to broaden my knowledge in this field.
I am currently working towards setting up a photobiology centre based at Solihull Hospital, which would be the first in the West Midlands to provide care for patients with sun induced conditions. I am also the lead consultant for the phototherapy department at Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust.
After completing my general medical training in Birmingham, I continued my specialist training in dermatology in renowned dermatology centres in the West Midlands. During my training I maintained a high professional profile by publishing multiple articles in prestigious national dermatology journals and presenting papers regularly at national and international meetings.
I was awarded prizes by the British Association of Dermatology and the Midlands Dermatological Society, as well as a fellowship from the British Photodermatology Group. Until recently, I was a member of the British Association of Dermatology Therapy and Guideline Committee, involved in producing and updating national clinical guidelines in dermatology. I received specialist accreditation in 2016 when I was appointed as a consultant dermatologist at Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust (presently working at Good Hope and Solihull Hospitals).
