I am an expert in the assessment and treatment of palpitations and all abnormal heart rhythms.
I have a keen interest is in ablation of atrial fibrillation, using the latest technologies.
I pioneered the use of laser AF ablation technology within the UK and was one of the first users of Pulsed Field Ablation (PFA). I am recognised internationally as one of the most experienced experts in my field, having given talks internationally, and provided training for other consultants and healthcare professionals from all over the world, including Europe, the USA and Japan.
My interests include the treatment of athletes who suffer from arrhythmias, as well as lifestyle assessment and improvement for patients in order maximise their wellbeing.
I am a graduate of Newcastle Medical School, and I completed specialist cardiology training in the Northeast of England at Freeman Hospital in Newcastle, one of the UK's largest and most experienced cardiology departments.
I developed and introduced the abnormal heart rhythms regional electrophysiology (EP) service for the Lancashire and South Cumbria region which was one of the fastest growing and most efficient EP services in the UK.
I am dedicated to providing an individualised care for my patients, understanding their needs and working on a 1:1 basis to improve their overall health and quality of life.

I live in Lancashire with my wife and two children. I am a keen triathlete and have competed internationally for the British Age Group Team as well as having completed many Ironman triathlons. I also enjoy music and play the guitar.
