Virtual consultations:
I am an expert in the assessment and treatment of palpitations and all abnormal heart rhythms including supra ventricular tachycardia (SVT), atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia.
My main interest is in ablation of atrial fibrillation, where I use the latest technologies to benefit patients. I have pioneered the use of the latest laser AF ablation technology (X3) within the UK and I am recognised internationally as one of the most experienced experts in this field, having given talks at international meetings and provided training for other consultants and healthcare professionals from Europe, the USA and Japan.
I have hosted the Global X3 symposium, held at Spire Manchester Hospital in February 2020 which was attended by consultants from all over the globe. Spire Manchester Hospital is the only private hospital in the UK to offer laser AF ablation.
I have a keen interest in the treatment of athletes with arrhythmias and sports cardiology, as well as lifestyle assessment and improvement for patients in order to reduce the risk of future heart rhythm problems.
I am a graduate of Newcastle Medical School and I completed specialist cardiology training in the North East of England at one of the UK's largest and most experienced cardiology departments. I have also benefited from training at several centres throughout Europe.
I was appointed as consultant cardiologist and clinical lead for electrophysiology (abnormal heart rhythms) at the Lancashire Cardiac Centre in 2010, and have developed the service for the region since then, helping it to be one of the fastest growing and most efficient services in the UK.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Dr Scott Gall at Spire include:
