I have been a consultant respiratory physician at Solihull Hospital and Birmingham Heartlands since April 2005. I graduated from Punjab University in 1989. I underwent my postgraduate and specialist training in the Republic of Ireland. I completed my Specialist training in General and Respiratory Medicine in June 2003.
I worked as a Lecturer in Respiratory Medicine and a Clinical research fellow from 2002 to 2005 at University College Dublin/St Vincent’s University Hospital Dublin. I was actively involved in laboratory-based research: “Polymorphisim in the promoter region of the macrophage migratory inhibitory factor (MIF) in Sarcoidosis and asthma”.
I am currently the Respiratory lead for Solihull Hospital, where I run three Respiratory clinics, including LTOT, per week. On Tuesday afternoons I also run a private clinic at Spire Parkway Hospital, Solihull. I chair weekly Respiratory Radiology meetings at Solihull Hospital.
Since 2005, when the Community Respiratory Team in Solihull was initiated, I have had a very close working relationship with Solihull Hospital. This integrated approach has developed over time and has been so successful.
