I am a Consultant in Respiratory Medicine with more than 15 years of experience in respiratory and sleep medicine, including over 10 years as a Consultant Respiratory Physician in the UK. I practise at Ashtead Hospital, Spire St Anthony’s Hospital and the Northey Suite at Epsom Hospital.
I completed my medical degree at NTR University of Health Sciences in India in 1997, followed by specialist training in Respiratory Medicine at the same university in 2004. After moving to the UK, I became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in 2006 and later achieved my Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) in Respiratory Medicine before being appointed as a Consultant in 2015.
Alongside my private practice, I work at Epsom General Hospital and run dedicated sleep clinics at the Sleep Centre in Queen Victoria Hospital within the NHS. I am also the Lead for Non-Invasive Ventilation (NIV) within my NHS Trust. In addition, I am a member of the British Thoracic Society and the European Respiratory Society.
I assess and treat a wide range of respiratory conditions, including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), obstructive sleep apnoea, bronchiectasis, interstitial lung disease, pleural disease, pulmonary embolism and post-COVID lung problems. I have treated thousands of patients with both acute and long-term respiratory conditions and always aim to provide clear explanations and personalised care.
I have particular expertise in sleep and ventilation medicine, including the management of patients with obstructive sleep apnoea and chronic respiratory failure who require home non-invasive ventilation (NIV). I also have extensive experience in home sleep studies and comprehensive lung function testing, helping patients receive an accurate diagnosis and tailored treatment plan.
My practice includes a range of diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory procedures. I regularly perform flexible bronchoscopy, which allows me to examine the airways and investigate respiratory symptoms and lung conditions. I also specialise in pleural medicine, including chest drain insertion, pleural aspiration and the insertion and management of indwelling pleural catheters (IPC).
I am committed to delivering patient-centred care, supporting patients both in hospital and within the community, and helping them manage their respiratory health with confidence and reassurance.
