I have been Consultant Hepatologist at the Royal London Hospital for the last 12 years with experience in all aspects of liver medicine. During this time I have led the regional hepatocellular carcinoma service and developed and led an outreach hepatology service to Queen's Hospital.
Liver problems often cause few or no symptoms until at an advanced stage. I focus on thorough investigation to detect liver disease early to reduce the risk of progression to serious problems.
I have developed novel liver cancer screening pathways in East London and worked with primary care to develop pathways to diagnose and screen for liver disease with general practitioners.
My clinical interests include autoimmune hepatitis, diagnosis, assessment and management of fatty liver disease, interpretation of abnormal liver bloods tests, interpretation of abnormal liver scans, liver Fibroscan assessment - quick painless test to assess liver scarring (and cirrhosis) and assess liver cirrhosis, primary biliary cholangitis - Alcohol related liver disease and viral hepatitis.
