I have been working as a consultant cardiologist for the last 12 years and have extensive experience of establishing excellence not only in the UK but also internationally, specializing in coronary and structural intervention.

I specialise in treatment of valvular heart disease (Aortic stenosis/ mitral stenosis) and practice high volume TAVI (keyhole treatment for aortic stenosis). I am an expert in treatment of coronary blockages ( angioplasty/ stent/ rotablation).I also undertake pacemaker implantations.

I have set up successful primary angioplasty and TAVI services in Mysore, India which has helped thousands of patients in their hour of need. I have extensive experience of research and have received many awards and prizes in my career.

Timely and efficient patient care is my top priority and we have won the UHL NHS Trust’s innovation award in 2024 for the TAVI pathway.

I specialise in treatment of coronary blockages by means of coronary angioplasty/ stenting. I am adept in calcium modification techniques, such as rotablation and lithotripsy. I am a high volume TAVI implanter and have also proctored colleagues, worldwide. I also specialise in pacemaker implantation.

To date, I have performed over 6,000 coronary angioplasties, predominantly radially. I have implanted over 750 TAVIs- transfemoral in the last 5 years. In the last 15 years, I have implanted more than 2,000 permanent pacemakers.

I have been appointed as Honorary Senior Lecturer by the University of Leicester. I am actively involved in ongoing research projects at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust.
