I graduated from the University of Southampton School of Medicine in 1995 and have worked in Wessex since. I completed my general medical training as a junior doctor in Southampton, before undertaking a period of medical research and obtaining a postgraduate Doctor of Medicine qualification from the University of Southampton.
I completed my five year diabetes and endocrinology specialist training whilst rotating through clinical posts at hospitals in Bath, Salisbury and Southampton.
The offer of a consultant post in a regional teaching hospital at Southampton held great appeal for me when I completed my formal clinical training.
Being attached to a medical school means that I am involved in teaching and training both students and junior doctors, which I thoroughly enjoy.

Outside of work, family life keeps me busy! I am very keen on keeping fit, regularly doing gym classes, as well as going running and cycling. I also enjoy reading thrillers and going to the cinema when I can.
