MSc, FRCPCH
I am a Consultant in Paediatric Allergy, caring for children from birth to 18 years old with a wide range of allergy-related conditions. Since graduating from medical school in 2006, I have dedicated my career entirely to paediatrics, driven by a strong interest in children’s health and a genuine desire to support families facing the challenges of allergies.
My early academic work focused on understanding how the immune system develops in babies and children, which continues to shape my approach today. I completed a Master’s degree in Paediatrics and Research, studying immune function and chronic conditions, and this naturally led me to specialise in paediatric allergy later in my career.
I trained across two healthcare systems in Greece and the UK, working in major university hospitals in Athens, Manchester, Newcastle and Hull. This has given me a broad perspective on how allergies affect children from different backgrounds and how families experience and manage these conditions. I joined the UK Specialist Register for Paediatrics in 2018 and went on to complete further specialist training in Birmingham, gaining the Royal College of Paediatrics SPIN Allergy certification in 2022.
Today, I work as a Consultant in Paediatric Allergy at University Hospitals of Leicester and also see private patients.
I support children with a wide spectrum of allergic conditions, including food allergies, anaphylaxis (severe allergic reactions), hay fever and allergic rhinitis, asthma, eczema, urticaria (hives) and other allergic rashes. I also have a strong interest in allergy prevention, particularly through early weaning strategies to help reduce the risk of developing food allergies.
Where appropriate, I offer sublingual immunotherapy, a treatment that helps the immune system become less sensitive to allergens over time. My aim is not only to manage symptoms, but to explore longer-term solutions that can improve a child’s health and day-to-day life.
I am passionate about providing evidence-based, up-to-date care tailored to each child and family. I understand that allergies can affect every aspect of daily life, from eating and sleeping to school and social activities. My focus is on helping families feel informed, supported and confident in managing their child’s condition.
As an active member of the Midlands Paediatric Allergy Group and the British Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, I stay closely involved in developments in allergy care to ensure my patients benefit from current best practice.
Above all, I am committed to working in partnership with families to help children not only manage their allergies, but thrive.
