I have 20 years’ experience in the use of injectable therapies known as GLP 1 analogues which are used extensively for the treatment of both Type 2 diabetes and weight loss intervention. I lead on the adoption and use of these drugs regionally and have extensive knowledge on treatment effect, side effects potential risks and the effect on other medications the patient may be taking.

I have extensive experience in the person centred management of Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. I have a specific interest in the use of novel therapeutics to promote weight loss and cardiovascular risk reduction diabetes as well as diabetes technology. I am experienced in all aspects of diabetes care including blood pressure, cholesterol and weight management. I do not look after diabetic foot disease privately.

I am experienced in the management of thyroid nodules and thyroid cancer. This includes risk stratification, treatment options and the long term follow up of thyroid cancer. I lead the regional thyroid nodule and thyroid cancer service. Similarly I chair the regional multidisciplinary meeting on adrenal nodules, the investigation and follow up of these and the treatment where necessary.

I routinely look after patients with an and overactive and underactive thyroid including all aspects of treatment optimisation and follow up.

I’m experienced in the investigation and management of male hypogonadism (low testosterone) and will be able to give a balanced approach as to the interpretation of testosterone measurements, the benefits and risks of treatment and various treatment options in the long term.

I do not see patients seeking private investigation or treatment for menopause or perimenopause, PCOS/PMOS, menstrual disorders or chronic fatigue symptoms.
