Specialises in
I am a Consultant Rheumatologist with more than 16 years of experience at consultant level, specialising in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of rheumatic and musculoskeletal conditions. I see patients with inflammatory arthritis, including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis and other inflammatory joint diseases, as well as connective tissue diseases such as lupus (systemic lupus erythematosus or SLE) and metabolic bone conditions, including osteoporosis.
I believe in providing patient-centred care and take the time to carry out a thorough assessment to understand your symptoms and concerns. My aim is to provide a clear diagnosis and ensure you have access to the most appropriate treatment to help manage your condition and support your long-term wellbeing.
A key area of my practice is the early diagnosis and treatment of inflammatory arthritis. Identifying these conditions at an early stage can help prevent joint damage and improve long-term outcomes, and I have a particular interest in starting appropriate disease-modifying treatments as soon as possible when needed.
I also have extensive experience in the assessment and management of osteoporosis and other metabolic bone diseases. This includes evaluating fracture risk and developing evidence-based treatment plans tailored to each patient's individual needs.
In addition, I manage chronic pain conditions such as fibromyalgia and primary chronic pain syndromes. I take a holistic approach, considering not only the physical aspects of pain but also the psychological and lifestyle factors that can contribute to ongoing symptoms.
Alongside medical treatments, I perform a range of joint and soft tissue injection procedures and work closely with GPs, allied health professionals and multidisciplinary teams to provide personalised, high-quality care.
My areas of expertise include rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, early inflammatory arthritis, osteoarthritis, lupus and other connective tissue diseases, osteoporosis, metabolic bone disease, fibromyalgia, primary chronic pain syndromes, joint and soft tissue injections, and a wide range of musculoskeletal disorders.
