Specialises in
I am a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Physician at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, a role I have held since 2007. I also serve as Clinical Director of the Cheshire Bowel Cancer Screening Programme.
I graduated from the University of Glasgow in 1993 and went on to complete my specialist training at major teaching hospitals in London and Liverpool. As part of my career development, I spent two years at St George’s Hospital as a Lecturer and Research Fellow, where I researched new models of care and aspects of gastroenterology. During this time, my work was published in peer-reviewed medical journals, and I presented my findings at the Royal College of Physicians in London.
My specialist interests include therapeutic gastroscopy and colonoscopy. These procedures allow me to diagnose and treat a range of digestive health conditions using minimally invasive techniques. I am also actively involved in training healthcare professionals at Leighton Hospital, helping to support the next generation of specialists in gastroenterology.
I understand that symptoms affecting the digestive system can be worrying and sometimes difficult to discuss. I aim to provide clear explanations, answer any questions you may have, and ensure you feel informed and supported throughout your care.
My background combines training at leading teaching hospitals in London and Liverpool with many years of consultant practice in Cheshire, enabling me to offer experienced, patient-focused gastroenterology care close to home.
