I hail from South Africa where I trained in General Paediatrics. I moved to the UK in 1998 and was trained as a Paediatric Cardiologist in the UK, qualifying in 2003. I went on to perform a cardiac imaging fellowship in Toronto, Canada. My clinical research has focussed on applying advanced imaging techniques to improve diagnosis.
I am skilled in high quality diagnostic imaging including transoesophageal echo for interventions, 3D echo, and fetal echo. In addition, I regularly perform cardiac MRI studies on children and young adults with congenital heart disease. My expertise is in diagnosis, clinical management and formulating a surgical plan for my patients. I am responsible for counselling families, deciding the timing of surgery and formulating a long-term treatment plan. My patients enjoy a holistic personalised approach to their care and I strive to ensure that the best possible outcome is achieved every step of the way.
