Specialises in
I have served as a Consultant in Pain Management at the University Hospitals of Leicester since 2012, where I lead multiple weekly pain clinics and a dedicated pain injection list at Leicester General Hospital. Over the years, I have developed extensive expertise in a wide range of image-guided procedures, including both X-ray and ultrasound-guided injections. These include radiofrequency ablation techniques and intravenous lidocaine infusions. My background in anaesthesia enables me to safely provide sedation for patients who may be particularly anxious or sensitive to procedures.
My training across leading hospitals in the UK, including my Fellowship in Pain Medicine from Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, has provided a strong foundation for my practice. I am a Fellow of both the Faculty of Pain Medicine and the Royal College of Anaesthetists.
My specialist interests lie in the management of spinal, pelvic, and abdominal pain. I routinely treat conditions such as facet joint pain, sacroiliac joint dysfunction, coccydynia, and spinal stenosis. I also lead a specialised multidisciplinary pelvic pain clinic twice monthly at Leicester General Hospital, where I offer comprehensive care for patients with complex and varied pelvic pain syndromes.
In addition to spinal and pelvic pain, I have substantial experience managing a wide spectrum of pain conditions. I regularly perform a broad range of interventional pain procedures. Please see all the conditions and procedures I see in the treatment section.Â
I am a strong advocate for the use of radiofrequency neurotomy, a technique that can offer prolonged pain relief for suitable patients.
My approach to pain management is centred on individualised care, recognising that pain affects each person differently—physically, emotionally, and socially. I take pride in treating patients holistically and collaboratively, often working within multidisciplinary teams to optimise outcomes.
In addition to my clinical work, I have a strong commitment to research and innovation in pain management. For the past decade, I served as the Research Specialty Lead for Anaesthesia, Perioperative Medicine, and Pain Management in the East Midlands, contributing to numerous national and international clinical research studies.
