I am a consultant dermatologist appointed in 1995. I have extensive experience in all ages, in the full range of skin diseases, from head to toe, including all rashes, skin allergies, acne, hair and nail problems, lumps, moles and warts and skin cancer (medical and surgical treatments, including photodynamic therapy). I have a specialist clinical interest in Cutaneous lupus erythematosus and vulval dermatology.
During my long consultant career, I have been the career lead on the Dermatology Specialist training program, ran the regional audit program for 8 years, led the Trafford skin cancer MDT, and served on the editorial Board J Lower Genital Tract.
My current committee work is with: British Association of Dermatologists Clinical Services 2011-present, BMA Private Practice Committee 2017-present, BMA Council 2018-present. I am a past president of 2 national societies: BSSVD (Vulval / genital disease, serving on the international council of the ISSVD for 4 years and the NEDs (North of England Dermatological Society).
I am extensively published (50+papers, 100+national/international presentations, 50+invited lectures (most recent June 2019 World Congress of O&G), 2 textbook chapters (Gynecologic dermatology, Vulvar disease) I advise the media, (Embarrassing Bodies, Newspapers).
