Dr Jennifer Garioch

I am a Consultant Dermatologist in Norfolk, East Anglia with a private practice at Spire Norwich Hospital.  My area of expertise is the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer including malignant skin cancer excision (dermatological surgery), melanoma, basal cell carcinoma and Mohs micrographic surgery.   My specialist clinical interests include sun damage, acne and acne scars, mole, cyst, wart and skin tag removal.  Other non-surgical treatments I also carry out include treatments to reverse the effects of ageing on the face - anti wrinkle injections, fillers and retinoid creams as well as treating excessive sweating of the underarms and hands.

I have been a dermatology consultant at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) since 1996. In addition to seeing patients with general dermatological problems, I am also responsible for the phototherapy service and the Chair of the Specialist Skin MDT at NNUHFT.

I developed special interests in blistering skin disorders and psoriasis during my time at St Mary's Hospital in London.

I graduated from Glasgow University in 1983 and subsequently completed my general professional training in internal medicine before entering higher specialist training in dermatology. I was registrar in dermatology at Glasgow Royal Infirmary for three years. In 1991 I was appointed to the post of Senior Registrar in dermatology at St Mary's Hospital, London. In 1999 I was awarded the Degree of MD for my research on dermatitis herpetiformis.
