Specialises in
I’m a consultant nephrologist with over 20 years’ experience, caring for patients through Spire with a wide range of kidney‑related concerns. I see people with both short‑term and long‑term kidney problems, including chronic kidney disease, blood or protein in the urine, and kidney problems linked to diabetes and high blood pressure.
A large part of my work is helping patients understand their condition and take steps to protect their kidney health. Diabetes and hypertension are the most common causes of chronic kidney disease, and I have a particular interest in prevention, early intervention and slowing disease progression wherever possible. I also regularly support patients with complex or difficult‑to‑control blood pressure and diabetic kidney disease, tailoring treatment to suit the individual rather than a one‑size‑fits‑all approach.
Alongside my work at Spire, I am based at Wirral University Teaching Hospital, where I have also held senior leadership roles within acute medicine and home dialysis services. My training at Royal Liverpool, Broadgreen and Wirral University Teaching Hospitals has given me broad experience in all aspects of kidney and general medicine, including dialysis and kidney transplantation, allowing me to provide joined‑up, practical care for my patients.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two children, and I’m a keen club‑level tennis player who enjoys the social side of the game as much as the competition.
