I was appointed as a Consultant in Clinical Oncology in Southend University Hospital in January 2009. I am the Clinical Lead in Oncology and Lead Cancer Clinician for the Southend University NHS Trust and I graduated in Bangladesh. I trained in General Medicine in London and completed my Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP). I was further trained in Clinical Oncology in the London Training Programme and obtained Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR).

I sub-specialised in urological, head and neck, thyroid and upper GI cancers. My specific areas of expertise include LDR and HDR Brachytherapy in Prostate Cancer and Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy (IMRT) and Image Guided Radiotherapy (IGRT) for both urological and head and neck cancers. I am also the Research Lead for head and neck cancer in Essex Cancer Network.

I am available most evenings and Saturdays.

In my spare time, I have a strong interest in social and cultural activities and over the years have been singing, directing and organising various musical concerts. I have had two CDs of Tagore songs published in India and have been invited and performed in concerts in India, USA, Bangladesh and the UK. I have regularly performed for different television channels in the UK and used to take part in a science programme on BBC radio (Bengali).
