Dr Iman Qureshi

I am a Consultant Haematologist with experience in diagnosing and managing a wide range of blood disorders. I offer private consultations with a focus on safe, evidence-based, and personalised care, ensuring each patient receives treatment tailored to their individual needs. I am committed to improving access to care and reducing waiting times, while also supporting clinical trials to provide access to innovative treatment options where appropriate.

I graduated with distinction in Medicine from Newcastle University in 2011 and became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians in 2013. I went on to complete specialist training in haematology, gaining Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists in 2020.

In 2025, I completed a Master’s degree in Genomic Medicine from the University of Exeter. This has strengthened my expertise in genomic diagnostics, helping me incorporate advances in science into everyday clinical care, particularly in cancer diagnosis, risk assessment, and clinical trial enrolment.

Alongside my clinical work, I am a dedicated medical educator. I achieved dual accreditation as an Educator and Supervisor with the Royal College of Physicians in 2022 and 2024, and I am actively involved in teaching and supervising doctors in training.

I also have a strong interest in service improvement. While working at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, I was proud to receive the “Best Services for Local People” Trust Award in 2022 for my role in improving haematology services. I currently practise within the NHS at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire, which supports my private practice and ensures continuity of high standards of care.

I have particular expertise in the diagnosis and management of both acute and chronic blood conditions. As the regional myeloid lead for Coventry and Warwickshire, I manage complex myeloid disorders, including acute and chronic leukaemias and related conditions. I am also closely involved in advanced diagnostics across the West Midlands and am one of seven haematologists reporting immunophenotyping for blood cancers.

My clinical interests include investigating and treating anaemia and related deficiencies such as iron, vitamin B12, and folate, as well as assessing raised or low blood counts, including platelet and white cell abnormalities. I support patients undergoing surgery with pre-operative blood optimisation, including anaemia management and iron infusions.

I also assess and manage conditions such as myeloproliferative disorders, chronic lymphocytic leukaemia, low-grade lymphomas under active surveillance, abnormal myeloma screening results, and inherited conditions like haemochromatosis. Where appropriate, I use specialised tests such as flow cytometry, molecular testing, and genetic profiling to guide diagnosis and treatment planning.

I provide personalised monitoring and follow-up plans for stable or asymptomatic conditions, ensuring ongoing reassurance and proactive care. Diagnostic imaging, including CT, PET-CT, and ultrasound scans, can be arranged through linked services where needed.

My aim is to provide clear, compassionate care in a calm and supportive environment. I take time to explain diagnoses and treatment options in a way that is easy to understand, helping you feel informed and confident in your care.
