I was appointed as a Consultant in Diabetes and Endocrinology at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, in 2009 after completing my specialist training in Wales.
I was awarded an MD by Cardiff University for my research work looking at the metabolic and cardiovascular effects of CLA in patients with Prediabetes.
In my current role, I am responsible for the management of patients admitted to a high turnover short stay medical ward in addition to contributing to the tertiary diabetes and endocrine services at the University Hospital of Wales. I am a Clinical Director in integrated Medicine and provide strategic leadership to the service.
I am also a member of the speciality training committee and take an active part in the supervison and training of medical students and higher specialist trainees.
I specialise in Diabetes (type 1 & type 2), General medicine, Excessive sweating, Testicular disorders, Thyroid, bone disorders, Pituitary and Cholesterol.
I have contributed to many research articles and published in peer reviewed journals in my field of expertise.
