I am a Consultant in Sport and Exercise Medicine and am passionate about optimising the non-operative treatment of musculoskeletal conditions. I assess and treat a variety of sport, exercise and musculoskeletal problems. During the consultation, if appropriate, I will perform a targeted complaint driven ultrasound. I also perform ultrasound guided, as well as unguided, injections and Arthrosamid® knee injection (for more information please see Joint pain treatment and benefits of Arthrosamid®)

I treat difficult tendon problems with therapies such as dry needling, autologous blood injections, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy injections, hyaluronic acid injections and high volume injections and extracorporeal shockwave therapy. I also perform prolotherapy injections in peripheral joints (not spinal injections) for specific conditions.

In my private practice, I introduced PRP injections to Spire Leicester Hospital in October 2018 after evaluating the effectiveness of the treatment and having undertaken accredited training in Munich. I now teach ultrasound guided PRP injection techniques in Munich.

I am also currently evaluating other regenerative medicine techniques.

In my NHS practice, I am involved in evaluating the effectiveness of autologous blood injections and also extracorporeal shockwave therapy.

I have vast experience of elite athlete care at both national and international level. I currently work as Club Doctor at Leicester Tigers, am Chief Medical Officer of Leicestershire County Cricket Club and also Medical Officer at Leicester City Football Club. I also work as under-19 doctor for FA Wales and Medical Advisor to the Professional Game Match Officials (PGMOL). I also work closely with an elite level heavyweight boxer.

I assess athletes who have medical support through the Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS) and the Professional Footballer’s Association (PFA). I provide second opinions in challenging cases in professional sport.

I have previously worked with England Cricket Board (ECB), The FA as an itinerant consultant, Wasps rugby, Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
