My main areas of interest are in the treatment of urological, gynaecological and breast cancers. In the treatment of prostate cancer I was involved in the development of the prostate brachytherapy programme in Portsmouth and the introduction of treatment with Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy.

I was appointed as a consultant oncologist to Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust in 1989 and as visiting oncologist to St Richard's Hospital in 1995. I qualified at University College Hospital and after training in London and Cardiff and was appointed Lecturer in Oncology at Leeds University 1986-1989. I was the clinical director for the Oncology Centre in Portsmouth for six years and was also an elected member of the Faculty Board of the Royal College of Radiologists and subsequently an elected Member of the Council. I was the educational Supervisor for Clinical Oncology in Portsmouth and an advisor to The Wessex Deanery.
