I cover all aspects of adult rheumatology including inflammatory arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, connective tissue diseases, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), Sjogren's syndrome and Golfer's elbow, systemic sclerosis, osteoarthritis, gout, polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR) and giant cell arteritis (temporal arteritis or GCA), metabolic bone diseases, osteoporosis and osteomalacia, back pain, and soft tissue rheumatism which includes tendonitis, tenosynovitis, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis.

Procedures I perform include joint and soft tissue injections, and musculoskeletal ultrasound in the context of early inflammatory arthritis.

I am now an Independent Consultant Rheumatologist and Physician with 24 years’ experience as an NHS Consultant in Rheumatology. While working for the NHS at Medway Hospital, I was the lead clinician for the Rheumatology Department for seven years and also the Clinical Director for Planned Specialty Medicine that included Rheumatology, Dermatology, Neurology and GU Medicine.

I qualified in Medicine at the University of Southampton in 1990. As part of my early career I quickly developed an interest in Rheumatology and went on to specialise in Rheumatology and General Internal Medicine which included training in the prestigious Rheumatology units of Guy’s, St Thomas’ and St George’s hospitals.

I qualified with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Warwick in 2010.
