Dr George Bunea

I am a Consultant Radiologist based at City Hospitals Sunderland NHS Trust, with a specialist focus on neuroradiology. My role involves helping to diagnose and assess conditions using detailed imaging, supporting patients and clinical teams in understanding what may be causing symptoms and planning the next steps in care.

My main area of expertise is neuroradiology, which focuses on imaging of the brain, spine and nervous system. I work with advanced scanning techniques to investigate a range of neurological conditions, providing clear and accurate reports to guide treatment.

In addition to this, I specialise in cross-sectional imaging, which includes techniques such as CT and MRI scans. These allow for detailed, 3D views of the body, helping to build a comprehensive picture of a patient’s health and supporting accurate diagnosis.
