I qualified from the University College of London Medical school in 2002. After enjoying time as a junior doctor in the South West of England, I completed my radiology training in Bristol between 2007-12. To enhance my expertise I then undertook a 12 month fellowship in musculoskeletal radiology at the University of Alberta, Canada before returning home to Wales to become a consultant musculoskeletal radiologist based in the Royal Glamorgan Hospital, Llantrsiant.

I am able to perform and report all musculoskeletal examinations using all imaging modalities and am also proficient in joint and soft tissue injections under image guidance, including nerve root injections and tendon treatments such as platelet-rich-plasma delivery and prolotherapy.

I enjoy sport, in particular rugby and developed an interest in the imaging of sports injuries imaging during my radiology training, both in the UK and North America. In addition, I also have an interest in inflammatory arthritis and soft tissue sarcoma.

I am a member of the British Society of Skeletal Radiologists and the Radiology Society of North America and am also the Royal College of Radiologists representative on the National Back Pain and Radiculopathy Pathway clinical group.

Training others is of utmost importance and as a clinical supervisor on the radiology training scheme in South Wales, I regularly teach radiology trainees and other allied healthcare professionals on a local and regional basis.

I am a clinical supervisor in my department, involved in teaching trainees of all levels both locally and regionally.

In addition to my daily work, I enjoy performing pitch side medical duties at regional rugby level which has been enhanced by completing a Post Graduate Certificate in Sports & Exercise Medicine at the University of Wales Institute.
