I was appointed as a Consultant Clinical Oncologist at Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust in 2015. I am also a visiting Consultant at St Richard’s Hospital, Chichester.
I specialise in the treatment of breast and upper gastrointestinal cancers. I trained in London and the South of England and subsequently undertook a three year research degree into heart-sparing breast radiotherapy techniques at the Royal Marsden Hospital and the Institute of Cancer Research. I have published and spoken extensively on this subject and my work has changed UK breast radiotherapy practice. I also have a particular interest in diet and its role in cancer prevention and treatment.
I specialise in the treatment of breast, oesophagus, stomach, pancreas and gallbladder/bile duct cancers. In treating these cancers I have expertise in hormone therapy, chemotherapy and radiotherapy (including advanced radiotherapy techniques).
A randomised control trial evaluating fluorescent ink versus dark ink tattoos for breast radiotherapy.
Mean heart dose variation over a course of breath holding breast cancer radiotherapy.

The UK HeartSpare Study (Stage II): Multicentre evaluation of a voluntary breathhold technique in patients receiving breast radiotherapy.
The UK HeartSpare Study (Stage IB): Randomised comparison of a voluntary breathhold technique and prone radiotherapy after breast conserving surgery.
