Dr Chitnavis is a senior consultant Haematoligst at the West Suffolk NHS Hospital Trust. She has a wealth of experience in all aspects of clinical and laboratory Haematology and since 2003 she has been the clinical lead for bleeding and clotting disorders (haemostasis and thrombosis) at the West Suffolk Hospital.
In her NHS role, Dr Chitnavis has helped to establish and develop the ambulatory deep vein thrombosis (DVT) service, the anticoagulation service and the chemotherapy service. She is a key member of the West Suffolk Hospital Thrombosis Committee, which received a national award for its work in thrombosis prevention in 2013.
Dr Chitnavis has trained in Cambridge, London and Oxford and developed her specialist interest in bleeding and clotting disorders with a Clinical Research Fellowship in Sydney, Australia.
